CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Roz poured two glasses of wine and joined Mick on the balcony outside of their bedroom. It was a breezy night, but no longer cold as it had been, and Mick was leaned back on the lounger, in a pair of shorts, looking over his vast estate. Roz, at first, walked over to the railing and looked across the grounds too. She loved how the new waterfall she had installed lifted up high enough for the moonlight to capture its flip, and then drop back down in a cascade of beautiful, clean water. It was a peaceful, serene place. And so removed from any life she thought sheâd ever enjoy that it made her reflective, and grateful to God every time she stood on that balcony at night.
Mick watched her staring out across their estate, too. She wore one of his big dress shirts, buttoned only at the middle button, and its white color blowing up and around her dark skin made her stunning in the moonlight. With every high breeze, the shirt would lift high, too, and her bare ass would show, and her stomach, and her thighs. Most women would grab at the shirt, and attempt to cover back up their suddenly exposed nakedness, for modesty sake, but not Rosalind. She let nature take its course and enjoyed the high breeze against her bare skin. Then, when the breeze would settle and the blowing shirt would cover her nakedness again, sheâd enjoy the break from the night chill too.
When Mick looked down, at her smoking body, and then up, at the way her hair blew around her serious, pensive face, he knew what he had. He hit the lottery when he found her.
But it wasnât because of her body, or that serious face of hers that made him know he had the grand prize. Roz never viewed herself as the most gorgeous girl in the world or even anything close to any airhead beauty queen, and neither did Mick. She was nobodyâs trophy wife. He never could respect a man who had to have that kind of woman. A guy like that, who needed a pretty woman on his arm to validate his own attractiveness, was the worse kind of insecure to Mick. And the woman, who would allow herself to be on that arm, was no better.
But Rosalind was her own person. She was tough. She was smart. She was gorgeous. And she was true and loyal to Mick than his best capo could ever be. And those qualities were everything to Mick.
If his children were his heart, Rosalind was his heartbeat.
After several more minutes of enjoying the view at night, Roz walked over to Mickâs lounger, handed him his glass of wine, and then sat her butt on his lap and leaned back against his chest. He repositioned her to where her ass was directly on top of his penis, and her head was cocked to the side of his right shoulder so that he could get just enough glimpse of her endearing face.
